This is from four years ago. I was a member of a photography group, and they wanted me to share my technique for producing the “Edgy Portraits” like the Firefighter pictures in the blog. There’s an inside joke here that I should explain. There was a member in the Digital Photography School forum who used to make fun of my wedding photography business because my pricing was considerably lower than his pricing. His pricing for a wedding started at about $5K. He didn’t think much of my work or my business, and he would refer to me as the “Walmart Photographer” because of my low prices. I didn’t let him get under my skin and proudly owned the “Walmart Photographer” title.

Why Cops Love Donuts
To those of you who know me, you get the joke. I hear it all the time… it’s always funny to poke fun at fat cops and donuts. But this topic always made me want to go two places: to talk about the origin of the joke, and to talk about stereotypes.
Ivory’s Quinceanera in San Antonio
The forecast called for rain. I really thought it would. So much that I packed my raincoat and boots. It’s rare that everything on the big day goes like clockwork. The makeup and hair girls were on schedule, and on point. The girls were nervous about the dance, and did a little rehearsal in the living room. I could tell they’ve really worked hard on this. The dresses were beautiful, and the tuxedos looked sharp. Everyone looked fabulous and on time. When the stretch Hummer limo arrived on time, we were all ready.
Where I live – Bulverde
I moved here in 2004 from Amarillo Texas. I had a U-Haul with my Harley Davidson motorcycle, my camera, and a few guns, arriving in Bulverde in 2004. Originally I moved into a luxury apartment complex on the North side of San Antonio. It was very nice, but the first thing I did was go for a ride and head for the Hill Country, and around the Canyon Lake and Guadalupe River area.
