I’ve been doing weddings now for 10 years. I recently had a bride ask me for some special pictures after the ceremony. She said that she and her new husband are Star Wars fans, and would I mind doing some silly pics with Light Sabers.

I can only imagine the look I had on my face. She may have expected that I would have blown off a suggestion like that… many photographers would…. but I told her that this is the wedding pictures I’ve been waiting for all my life. To say I had fun with this is a huge understatement. She had bought some toy light sabers, and wanted to have her wedding party pose with the sabers. I have a reputation as being a photographer who loves special effects with Photoshop. I did a composite with some of the pictures, cutting out the people, and putting them into backdrops of Star Wars landscapes. Yes, I had fun with it.

The portraits were shot at a golf course in San Antonio Texas. The bride had bought some toy light sabers and asked if I can do some of my Photoshop magic and make the sabers look real. I created a composite image by cutting the people out of the shot, and inserting them into some Star Wars background landscapes. Changed the color hue, level adjustments and added shadows. My favorite of the set is the sunset. May the Force be with you.
