REVIEW – SmartMade Chicken with Spinach Fettuccine

Fettuccine ChickenAnother Diet Review?

This is what happens when a fat photographer gets writers block with his blog.  In my attempt to convince Google that I’m an active blogger, I want to write a post every day. (We’ll see how long that lasts) Since I don’t have anything for today about Wedding Photography in San Antonio, I’ll do another blog entry about fettuccine, losing weight, dieting, and reviewing food.

This is Different.

This is SmartMade Chicken with Spinach Fettuccine. Some of the frozen dinners that I’ve tried have had a few problems, mostly with the honesty of the cover picture.  This one is different. What you see on the box is pretty accurate. The other thing that makes this product different, is the portion size is larger, and the numbers are smaller than other products from competing brands.

GRADE

On taste, I’d give this an A. Portion size is just about perfect, so let’s give it a B+. Value also gets an A since the price I paid is only $3.28. The numbers are impressive, at only 220 calories and 22 grams of protein. When I planned my diet, I wanted my dinner meal to average around 300 calories, so this keeps me under my daily count.

CONCLUSION

I’ll be buying some more of these.  Low calorie and tastes great. It even filled me up! The only suggestion would be a little seasoning for the chicken pieces.  The chicken was just a little dry, and needed a little seasoning.  Maybe a little sun dried tomato and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. I know, that messes up the calorie count, but a little flavor goes a long way.  In other news I have a busy photography weekend coming up with an engagement session and a wedding, so hopefully I’ll have some blog entries about photography again.
